Intuition Wins
Do you remember the ‘Friends’ episode where Rachel found out she was pregnant? No? This is how it happened:
Rachel took a pregnancy test.
Phoebe gave her the results.
Rachel was suddenly sad to learn she was not pregnant.
Phoebe told Rachel she had not told her the truth. Rachel really was pregnant and excited about it.
I’ve been thinking about the emotion of that moment for Rachel because I’m in the middle of making a decision. It’s not nearly as big as Rachel’s. I do have lots of mixed feelings.
My heart and my head, logic, and emotion are all tied up in a ball around the decision.
Logically, I know what it makes sense to do.
Emotionally, doing the logical actually pains me.
And then there is intuition. Usually, intuition is the gold standard by which I make decisions.
Here’s the rub… I am allowing the logic, what if’s, shoulds, musts, and have-tos to create a swirl of indecision.
You can get into this exact same place in your business. Everyone is trying to tell you how to run or manage your business, and how you should like to provide value, how you should feel about what you are doing. What your team should look like… and on and on.
Whether you want to admit it or not, every business decision has an emotional component. This business is your baby.
This is a critical time to find space and peace to listen to your intuition. Open yourself up to the idea that the answer may be a combination of what you have been thinking about. Allow yourself to feel what excites you.
All of those folks trying to help you aren’t wrong. They just aren’t YOU.
Use your intuition to identify the solution that works for you.
