Business and Wildflowers

I have a beautiful wildflower garden. I also have a great business.

The wildflower garden was a bit of a lark. We bought a few packets of seeds to draw butterflies, and bees and added a few zinnias just for giggles. The ground is shaded, which is not ideal for wildflowers. All we did to prepare it was to clear the ground, put a border around it, throw the seeds out there and cross our fingers.

It took what seemed like forever until something came up, then we had no idea what it might turn into. Among all of the flowers is a tiny white bloom. It can’t be more than 2 or 3 millimeters across.

It is beautiful and I always feel like that tiny bloom is a huge reward for patience and a little bit of watering.

That bloom reminds me of marketing.  It can feel like you are just throwing seeds out there and maybe, you get a few tiny blooms (clients) in return.

If you stop throwing those seeds, the ground remains bare.

The more those seeds are tailored to your ideal client, the bigger and more impressive the blooms will be. Don’t stop throwing the seeds, even if it feels like they will never germinate.
