Get Over Yourself

How many times a day do you think to yourself “Ugh, that was not fun!” ?

Or maybe, like me, you say it out loud.

Don’t just let those moments pass. Pay attention to what it was you were doing and ask yourself WHY it wasn’t fun.

It could be that you just don’t like grocery shopping. That’s what InstaCart is for. : )

But if you were sending an invoice, you need to dig into why you are sending that invoice.

I would imagine that for you, the accounting and invoicing work isn’t what you are brilliant at doing. You may even find it so tedious that you are perpetually behind on invoicing and accounting work. Being behind on anything can contribute to stress. And, let’s face it, you have to send invoices to get cash in the bank.

If you are not brilliant at that work, and you are always behind, why haven’t you found someone else to do it for you? Your time is certainly worth more than the time it takes someone to enter something into your accounting system.

Same thing with creating that flyer for the speaking event your super fan is setting up for you. Why are you doing the design work? Even if you don’t have a designer on your team, you certainly have someone who can work with a designer on Fivver.

Your time is more valuable when you are focused on doing what you do brilliantly. If you are spending time doing other things, you are losing money, spending less time with your family, or playing soccer.

Get over yourself and stop doing everything yourself. I bet your team would love it if you took a few steps back and let the team fly.

Just sayin’. Sometimes you are your own worst enemy.
