Embrace the Dark, You Bad-Ass!

People will always tell you what you can’t do.

Ignore those people.

You don’t need their negativity.

I love a good snarky affirmation!

 It appeals to my dark side, the side that knows where there is light, there is dark. Even dark things, like a horde of undead scorpions, can serve the light. (Cause I’m a dragon witch.)

 On a rough day, a good snarky affirmation can have me laughing and pulling out my wand to create the day I desire, magically.

 We often forget that holding onto the dark requires as much energy as embracing the light. It takes more energy to be angry and vengeful than it does to smile and wish someone well. 

 I don’t recall when I decided that dark emotions take too much energy. (anger, hate, prejudice, jealousy…) Those who know me can tell you I am not the “rainbows, unicorns, and flowers flying out my ass” kind of girl. 🐉🌈🌺 I can sarcasm and snark with the best of them.

 This is a call to embrace the dark for the moment it takes to be human. To expend the energy that then calls you back to the light. A heartfelt “FUCK!”, or “Why me!”, gives the negativity somewhere to go so you can begin to find your way back to the light.

 Hold on to the negativity and it “comes out sideways”, as a petty comment or as an attitude to someone you never wanted to wound. It can create the beginnings of illness.

 Sometimes it takes a few days of snark to get from the dark back to your place of light and flow. That’s ok. You’re human. Well, you’re in human form- lean in. You can still have the heart of a dragon 🐉, the hands of a witch🧙🏻, and the energy of a fairy. 🧚‍♀️

 I’m leaning in. Using Sinister Affirmations to remind me of all of the light there is to be found.
