Spirituality and How You Approach the Global Mess

Oh My F*%&ing Universe!

It’s a lot- on a good day.

So, what do you do to keep the monsters at bay?

Hold peace in your heart.

I can already hear you laughing at how naïve- downright ridiculous- that sounds.

Don’t bury your head in the sand or go full “rainbows and unicorns will save the day”. Like it or not, you live on this 3D planet. There will always be a lot going on that feels chaotic to you.

Many years ago, pre-2010, I sat in silence during a meditation. We were guided forward to a time we thought would be far in the future- a world in chaos, wars, climate crises, political upheaval

In my vision,

  • …the oceans and land were covered in lava. (I didn’t know about the lava game at the time.)

  • Tiny islands rose from the lava, scattered as far as I could see. None touched. Put your hand in the lava and… well, it was LAVA.

  • Each island had a single person. I couldn’t hear them, but I could see them.

  • My island was a little hump- lush with foliage, a tree. I lacked for nothing.

  • And everything around me, except the other little islands, was burning.

  • The message I heard: “Be in peace. Tend your island Tend your relationships. Carry your light. Help others learn to carry theirs. There will be enough lights.”

I had no idea that a chaotic “future” would arrive as early as 2025.

But in my heart, I know it is enough to be in peace and carry my light forward. That’s why I love working with spiritual business women- helping them grow their businesses and getting their mission (their light) into the world in a big way.

You must hold peace in all of your interactions, in all of your energy.

That doesn’t mean sitting on your meditation pillow, candles lit, dogs curled beside you, ”Ohm-ing” your way to serenity. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)

You must carry peace within you everywhere. It means knowing that approaching every situation with peace will be the answer.

You must recognize how fear, ancestral pain, and deeply held beliefs can drive humans in the least desirable ways. And still, you must share your light. Hold them in the energy of change. Believe that they can change; that they are not stuck forever.

If you close the door to change, the cycle of violence and hatred will continue.

But if you approach each interaction- with your kids to your parents, the guy at Starbucks, the politician who makes sh*$$y decisions- with a desire to understand, to bring compassion and love, then you leave the door open. Some will walk through it, opening the portal to a new possibility.

I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t always live from this space. Sometimes the person holding up traffic by driving 10 miles below the speed limit gets the side-eye…

But the more I maintain the energy and belief that we can create change, the less the chaos impacts my peace.

If you feel moved to march, to write letters- be YOU. Do it!

Just do it knowing that every interaction you have can move us all toward a brighter future.
