I Didn’t Want to Hear It
There are times when you are too close to your life to know what you need.
I’m in one of those spaces. My life is huge:
I am planning a wedding. 👰
I have 2 amazing dogs that allow me and my fiancé to be their caretaker. 🐶🐕
We are in the middle of home renovations. 🛠️
I have amazing clients that need my attention.
My parents are looking for a new home close to me and preparing to sell the family home. 🏡
My mother is working to identify a mystery health issue.
We are preparing to receive more than 10 family members into our home during the 10 days around our wedding.
We’re moving into a hotel to give my fiances family full use of the house for 4 days.
And that’s just between now and the end of October.
November brings travel, more renovations, and the holidays.
I work with a business coach. We all need someone who can see the reality of our business and our lives without the baggage of emotions. Someone who has our best interest at heart and will say the things we don’t want to hear.
Today, my coach, told me to take some time off. In essence, she fired me until Jan. Not because I did anything wrong.
Because she was listening to the litany of things happening and could see, even more clearly than I could, that I was too splintered right now to take full advantage of her expertise.
She was right.
I am beyond grateful for her willingness to see exactly where I am and to make a suggestion that has my best interest at heart. 💜
We could keep working together, making my list of to-do’s that don’t get completed longer. 📝 Creating frustration and aggravation over all of the things left undone.
My family, my wedding, my LIFE, deserve my full attention right now.
That is what a good business coach does for you. Whether they are focused on marketing, business growth, or copy, they see where you are and have the obligation to meet you where you are at that moment.
Every leader/CEO should have a business mentor/coach in their life. Someone you trust to tell you the truth. To say things you may not see for yourself. That has your best interest at heart.
Taking some time off from working with my business coach doesn’t mean I’m going to be stepping away from you.
This work is what I love. I am excited to see what the next few months bring. I am here for it. I am here for you.
