How One Small Name Change Can Skyrocket Your Freebie Sign-Ups
I was excited. It was done! My latest freebie was ready to go. The talk where I would give it away was still a week away. The landing page was complete.
Envision me dancing with the dogs!
And then… I’m celebrating while taking a walk in the warm spring air, and I realize the name for the freebie- Flow Planning Framework™ 90-Day Starter Guide- was not a good name for a freebie.
Why? 90-Days- When you’re trying to learn a new skill 90-Days sounds like forever. When you’re trying to do something- planning- that you have tried and failed at previously… 90-Days is an eternity.
People aren’t going to take advantage of something free if it sounds scary!
So… back to the computer I go.
I changed the name to Flow Planning Framework™ Starter Guide, which even sounds more doable to me.
Now, I could relax. Except that I have to update the thank you page, the follow-up emails, and the folks running the speaking event in May (where I’m using the freebie again).
I used to think of this kind of “rework” as a pain in the ass, annoying work that just took up time.
In reality, it’s my intuition kicking in. In the quiet of the walk, the joy of the spring air, my connection to the Universe strengthens. The name change comes to me like a loving bolt of lightning. 💞🌩️
I could have asked my VA to do the quick update work, but it’s sometimes just easier to do it myself. In reality, it took maybe 15 minutes, and I had the time.
The simple change could exponentially increase the number of people the freebie helps. And that’s the name of the game. Provide value.
The next time you start to get wound up about some simple, little change, take another look. Does that change move your vision forward?
Maybe it’s time to say a quiet thank you to the intuition that made that simple change obvious.
