Flow as a Way of Living, Not Escaping
How do you define flow?
Let’s bring some clarity to this…
How do you define your personal flow?
Not the flow state you drop into while creating- but the way you actually move through your day.
You wake up. You begin moving through your life…
Is that flow?
Is it:
· Doing what you feel like in each moment?
· Following intuitive nudges—even when you don’t feel like it?
· Sticking to a simple plan you’ve created for the day?
· Knowing you worked on what’s been on your mind?
· Completing what’s written on your list?
· Something that changes depending on the day?
· Or something else entirely?
👉 What does flow mean to you?
I’ve been channeling the Flow Planning Framework™, and one thing keeps becoming clear:
Definitions matter.
Lately, my definition of flow has felt steady and supportive:
Flow is giving myself space to intuit what I want to do next, while also tending to the activities that make my life whole and move my business toward my vision.
There’s nuance here, of course- but let’s keep this simple.
Because again… definitions.
Activities that make my life whole
These are the things that bring joy, satisfaction, and care to my life:
playing with the dogs, taking a walk, working in the veggie garden, cross-stitching, sitting on the swing with my husband…
Activities that move my business forward
These are the things that support my vision:
commenting on Substack, writing articles, speaking, creating my signature freebie, building my signature talk, networking…
So what does flow look like in practice?
Flow means I:
· Respect what needs to be completed to keep my business moving
· Honor what I need to feel grounded, healthy, and whole
Sometimes that’s 4–5 business tasks + 4–5 personal, soul-nourishing activities.
Sometimes it’s 1 big business task and 3 small soul-nourishing activities.
I listen to my intuition.
The flow lies in how and when I move through them.
It’s listening to the nudge to step into the garden before opening my laptop.
To feel the sun. Breathe deeply. Practice gratitude. Tend to what’s growing.
It’s looking at my calendar, seeing five things, and choosing the one I feel called to begin with.
It’s also recognizing I have a networking call in 30 minutes- and doing the mindset work to show up present, energized, and open.
Flow is not the absence of structure.
It’s the dance between intuition and responsibility.
It’s the ability to shift your plan to honor your heart-
while still honoring the agreements you’ve made with your clients, your team, and yourself.
Flow, in this human life, means integrity.
It means living in the 3rd dimension-
while staying connected to the wisdom of the 5th.
Would I love to fully dissolve into the realms of angels, dragons, and soul space?
Of course.
And… I’m here. In a body. On this planet.
So my work- our work- is to bridge those worlds.
To honor the soul and the structure.
To trust intuition and take aligned action.
And now I’d love to hear from you:
