emails can one person get in 3 weeks???
A LOT.
I’m on a lot of lists. I want to stay in touch with what my peers, business coaches, spiritual coaches etc. are doing.
What’s fascinating to me is the conflicting information I’m getting. One popular coach will say email lists are dead, another says email lists are the lifeblood of your company.
Both of them are correct. The market is so split right now- by community, by generation, by gender, by (insert whatever you think of here)- so that the only system that works is the one that works for you and your community.
I’m not even talking about communities at large- the weight loss community, or the channeling community- I’m talking about your specific people. The folks on your list, that you are talking to in Facebook groups, on your networking calls, and in your programs.
What works is further inspired by YOU. What do you LOVE to do? Do you enjoy writing a weekly newsletter and then sharing it with a wide audience? I do! My community, on Substack, Medium, my email list, Facebook, Instagram… They all benefit from what I write each week.
If they stopped reading, would I stop writing? Probably not. Writing is a specific part of my process. I know if you are a writer, you’re not going to stop just because a few folks stop reading.
The same thing goes for the folks that looooove making videos. I enjoy making videos. I don’t always enjoy putting my game face on. Although I will admit, once I get going, I’m always happy I made the videos.
If folks stopped watching your videos, you wouldn’t quite making them, right?
So… who is correct?
Everyone is. What works for your community is between you and them. It takes some investigation and may change over time.
If your audience is 40+ year old women and in 10 years you’re using the same old marketing techniques… you’re probably going to miss the boat. Those original 40+ women are now 50+, and the new 40+ may be different than the old 40+. Confusing, kind of. Suffice it to say, people’s tastes change.
Trust your intuition. If it’s telling you to switch up your communication or sales offers, give it a try. You will definitely learn something, and you may attract a whole new amazing group of people.
You are growing, learning, and expanding constantly. Your preferred method of communication and sharing will change over time.
It’s all good to keep an eye on what everyone is doing. It’s even better to make a note of that and then do what works for you and your community.
