Personal Growth = Business Growth

Your personal growth is deeply tied to your business success.

Think of it like schooling: what you learn is the growth. When you learn specific things, you matriculate to the next grade, where you learn more. 

The Universe works the same way. You learn a lesson, then the Universe kicks it up a notch, and you get to learn that lesson at a deeper level.

Personal growth follows the same pattern if you allow it and prioritize it. The lessons the Universe throws at you are part of your personal growth, personal growth asks that you continually reach for your next best level. 

Your growth seeps into your business. You’re never separate from your business - everything about you informs your business culture, your marketing, and the stories you share. Your business grows to match your level of personal and leadership growth.

I’ve noticed a few ways that leaders stifle their growth: 

1. You let fear take over.

2. You decide you are comfortable right where you are and don’t need to grow. This may happen unconsciously, or there may be some arrogance involved - assuming you just don’t need to grow anymore.

Your business may stagnate at that point. You are remaining the same, and so is your business. Growth becomes a problem. 

Fear is insidious. You may not even realize it’s taken over. Here are some examples that limit or cut off growth: 

  • You never fully implement new growth strategies. You put some pieces in place, decide they won’t work, and revert to old strategies (that had stopped working).

  • You release new marketing language, give it a few hours to create marvelous results, and when it doesn’t, decide it’s not working and revert to the old copy. 

  • You shift your schedule to create space for creativity and self-care, only to give in to a client’s requests and fill that space, allowing your much-needed personal time to evaporate.

  • You ask your team for innovative ideas and new ways of thinking, then come up with excuses for why they won’t or can’t work. You end up discounting your team’s work, damaging your relationships.

  • You find reasons not to step up into leadership opportunities. You may sabotage your work, decide the timing isn’t right, or even claim your Higher Self tells you it’s just not a good fit. 

All of these directly impact your business success. When running a conscious business, you want all pieces working together like a symphony. That means that you need to stay on top of both your personal and business growth.

Pay attention to the warning flags. Use your strength to ask for help. A leadership coach or strategic coach with permission to help you grow personally will pay off in more ways than you can imagine.
