From Stuck to Thriving: How Community can Elevate Your Business Journey

I had a terrible day today. I mean, it was so bad that for a while, I couldn’t even begin to see the light.

So, I did something I rarely do.

I reached out to my community. 🤝

Not just any community, but a group that makes explicit space for you to “Scream into the Void”. 😱 The group is business-focused, and we are all navigating this interesting world together.

I screamed. I thrashed. I admitted to being completely overwhelmed by the confluence of issues. 😵‍💫

Did I get platitudes in return? Nope. Business owners who know me commiserated and offered helpful ideas to get me out of the overwhelm and paralysis with real reasons to move forward.

No judgment. No empty encouragement. Just acknowledgment of how hard it is and practical ideas for shifting my energy.

This community changed the trajectory of my day.

For spiritual business owners, community is the game changer they never admit they need.

I know … because that used to be me. I didn’t think I needed community. I believed I could do it all myself.🏋️‍♀️

But I’ve learned differently. I’ve hit walls that didn’t exist pre-pandemic. And I’ve gotten over those walls with the help of my community.

Business owners genuinely want to support each other. Simply “liking” a post or leaving a generic comment on social media doesn’t feel impactful enough. 💬

That changes when you’re part of a community. In a supportive community, you learn the hopes and dreams of others. You understand what scares other business owners, how they overcome challenges, and how their personal relationships impact their daily business lives.

When a community provides a safe space, you can be honest about how the economic and political environments affect you. Other members find ways to lift you.

Community comes in all shapes and sizes. I’m in one with thousands of members. I know only a small subsection, but those folks know another subsection, who knows another subsection… It’s like playing Six Degrees of Separation with Kevin Bacon. Some of the folks are deeply spiritual 🔮; others are corporate professionals. 💼

I’m also in a much smaller community with fewer than 12 members. We know each other well. We are more different than we are alike. The desire to support one another and our commonalities more than outweigh the differences.  We are there to support one another- and to be supported. Together, we elevate each other. There is a wealth of knowledge within every one of us, and we share it freely.

In addition to helping you escape the overwhelm, a community offers opportunities.

In each of these communities, we share referrals.

Networking opportunities abound.

Struggling with a task you just can’t get done? There’s probably someone in the community who can help. 💡

Facing a business issue that feels unsolvable or has you stymied? Check-in with the community. Chances are, someone has overcome the same problem  AND is willing to share how they did it.

Need a specific resource to solve a specific problem? No worries- someone in the group knows just the tool to use. 🛠️ And you’ll get that answer in minutes, instead of wasting hours searching the internet, trying different tools until you find one you like. (Or maybe that’s just me?) 😉

Need a coworking buddy? A community member is there for you. 👩‍💻👨‍💻

Want to run an idea by someone? Let the community know, and you’ll be brainstorming or masterminding with two or three people in no time.

Looking for affiliates to help promote your new program? You’ll find them among the folks who complement your work in the community.

Want feedback on a new course? Someone in the community would love to give it a review.👀

You get the idea.

The only caveat to being part of a great community? You have to participate. Assist folks when you can, share advice when asked, commiserate, and let folks know you are there for them. Just let them know you hear them. Humanity needs kindness. Your community is a great place to start.

On days like today, that community was the reason I moved past overwhelm, raised my vibration, and did some great work. 🚀🌈 A community can do the same for you.
